Childbirth Q & A

Why should I choose Aspire For Women to help me deliver my baby?

Dr. Holub and Dr. Scariano believe that every birth, like every mother, is unique. Some choices you may want to consider in planning your birth are as follows:

Would you prefer an intimate birth experience with only your partner present, or would you like the support of family and close friends with you?

Would like you like to take advantage of the availability of state of the art pain management (safe epidurals, nitrous oxide, IV pain medication) or would you like to plan a very natural, noninterventional delivery? Aspire For Women can help you achieve these goals in a way that is safe for you and your baby. Regardless of your choice, our doctors will work to help you achieve a calm and relaxed birth, with immediate skin to skin bonding and an opportunity to nurse immediately.

How do I know if a vaginal delivery or a cesarean delivery is right for me?

There are times when a Cesarean section is a safer method of delivering your baby. Some of these reasons are breech position, placenta previa,  an extremely large infant with a very petite mother, or signs of fetal distress in labor. Our doctors will help you stay informed to help you make the choice that is safest and most comfortable for you. Even if you choose Cesareaan section, we can usually help you begin the “golden hour” and enjoy skin to skin contact while still in surgery as your doctor is completing your cesarean section.

What if I have a high risk pregnancy?

Drs. Leslie Scariano and Grace Holub have extensive experience in caring for women with high risk pregnancies. Some of these risk factors are twin pregnancy, chronic  hypertension, preeclampsia, diabetes, advanced maternal age, premature labor and many more. What’s more, even the healthiest woman can develop a complication in labor and delivery. It is important to choose an obstetrician that is not only medically knowledgeable, but who has extensive experience in caring for you during this crucial time. If necessary. We will partner with your medical specialist or a maternal fetal medicine specialist to provide your care with the most up to date practice recommendations.
